News To Me, deals with the contradictions of the No Child Left Behind Act. Through the combined styles of Hip-Hop Theater and Musical Theater, News To Me focuses on a diverse group of young people, ages 16 to 23, who are given the chance to create their own TV news program. While working together, the young people struggle with group pressures of racial and economic diversity, and outside pressures of family, work and school. When they decide on reporting disparities in the No Child Left Behind Act the young people face the added pressure of a governing group of adults who would like to "white wash" what is broadcast over the airwaves. In the end News To Me celebrates the indefatigable nature of youth, and change.
